The 2012 National Children’s Health campaign runs throughout the month of February. It brings together thousands of dedicated dental professionals and health care providers to teach and promote the benefits of good oral health to children and adults. We as professionals take this campaign as an opportunity to get the word out and help educate children on the importance of keeping a healthy smile.

This year's poster features the slogan "ROCK YOUR SMILE”. This poster features the McGrinn Twins, Flossy and Buck, along with their best friends and next-door neighbors Den and Gen Smiley, dancing and singing their way to a healthy smile. On the reverse, pre-teens/teens are listening to great music while rocking their smile. This versatile poster will help speakers, teachers, and others who want to address both age groups.

The ways Dr. Olsen and his team promote Children’s Dental Health month are by talking to kids about the importance of caring for their teeth. Regular check-ups along with good home care are important in keeping a healthy smile. Children need to know that with today’s technology and care available, there is no reason to get cavities if you maintain a healthy diet and good home care. We teach these individuals how to properly brush and floss, teach them the importance of maintaining 6 month cleanings and talk about sugars and soda consumption.

Let’s get the word out as a community and help the younger generation by educating and mentoring them!
