What is a Porcelain Filling?
Porcelain fillings performed at our Southern Milwaukee office are routine a cosmetic procedure by Dr. Olsen. The material used for this type of filling is a combination of porcelain, glass powder and ceramic. They may also be referred to as inlays and onlays. Porcelain ceramics are comparable to natural tooth strength and will last for years.
What can I expect?
Porcelain Filling procedures are similar to traditional fillings procedures; however, they are filled with a porcelain material instead of conventional, silver colored fillings. Dr. Olsen will remove the decayed portions of the tooth with the aid of local anesthetic. He will make an impression of the cavity and fill the cavity with a temporary filling. After the porcelain filling is created at a lab, Dr. Olsen will invite you back to insert the permanent porcelain filling and bond it to your tooth.
